Attorney General Dana Nessel filed a lawsuit Tuesday in Washtenaw County Circuit Court against 17 companies, alleging they “deliberately concealed” damages caused by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a chemical group known as PFAS, which are often called “forever chemicals.”The lawsuit targets companies that produce items containing PFAS, commonly used for its resilient chemical structure since the 1950s in non-stick pans, water-resistant clothing and firefighting foam.
