A Melvindale 15-year-old has been charged with making a terrorist threat or false report of terrorism after telling a classmate via Snapchat that he planned to "shoot up the school" and including a photo of a someone holding a gun.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's office says the student who received the messages reported the communications to school officials, who in turn called the Melvindale Police Department.
The situation follows a number of reported threats at Michigan high schools since a south Florida high school student opened fire on his classmates last week, killing 17 people. According to WDIV-TV, a student at South Lyon High School was charged Tuesday with making a false report or threat of terrorism after telling a schoolmate he wanted to re-enact the shooting in Florida, also via Snapchat.…
