In response to the Feb. 14 mass shooting at a high school in Parkland, Fla. where 17 students and teachers were killed, a nationwide network of gun control rallies is planned to take place on Saturday, March 24, with a main rally happening in Washington D.C.
Coined "March for our Lives," the rallies will push for increased gun control and school safety measures that could help prevent future mass shootings.
The organization's mission statement reads, in part:
March For Our Lives is created by, inspired by, and led by students across the country who will no longer risk their lives waiting for someone else to take action to stop the epidemic of mass school shootings that has become all too familiar.…
